Keum boo gold and silver flower earrings

Keum boo is an ancient Korean technique that involves fusing gold to depleted silver. 

I used thick 24k gold leaf, specially made for this, and applied it using heat and pressure to sterling silver.

The sterling silver is deeply textured and has been oxidised to give an antique effect beside the gold. 

The earrings hang from gold fill (thicker that gold plating) earwires.
