My handmade silver version of the ancient stone Sheela-na-gig sculptures that appear on churches and castles around the UK and Ireland.
Although their true meaning is unknown it's thought that they could be either female gargoyles created to ward off evil spirits, or fertility symbols.
Either way they are fascinating and a striking reminder of female power!
Made from solid sterling silver, each little figure stands at 2 cm, and hangs from an 18 inch sterling silver.
It comes gift wrapped and is sent first class in compact eco packaging, slim enough to fit through standard letterboxes.

Each piece of Dog Star Silver jewellery has been made with eco silver that has either been reclaimed or recycled - including all sterling silver chains and attachments. On the rare occasion that a small amount of non-recycled silver has been used in a particular design, it is always mentioned in the description.

Care information
To look after your Dog Star Silver jewellery keep it away from the shower or pool, let lotions & perfumes dry in before wearing, and take it off before playing sport or sleeping. Store your piece in a jewellery box, and if it ever dulls give it a little love by polishing it using a microfiber cloth, or use one of the polishing kits available in the 'extra's' section of the shop.
Pieces made using fine 999 silver are softer than the sterling silver ones and should be treated thus - please don't try to bend your jewellery or treat it harshly - it may break!
